 | The sugar white sandy beach is only 75 yards away. Lounge around
or get a little wet (or BOTH!), whatever the beautiful blue Gulf
waters inspire for your day. |
 | If you're concerned about sharks, according to
research done by the University of Florida, there has only been
one shark attack at Santa Rosa Beach in the last 120 YEARS!!! |
 | Have an itch to shop? The Shops at Santa Rosa are only a mile
away and each of the beach communities along 30-A has it's own
unique shopping area. If that doesn't satisfy your itch, a quick 7 mile trip to
Destin and the
Silver Sands Factory Stores is just what the doctor
ordered. |
 | Visit the
Topsail Hill State Preserve (2 miles) and walk through
miles of undeveloped sea shore. |
 | Several other state parks are also a short drive away --
Grayton Beach State Park,
Deer Lake State Park,
Camp Helen State Park, and
Henderson Beach State Park. |
 | Speaking of parks, there's a new local park just down the street,
Ed Walline Park. This quaint little park has covered picnic tables and
bathrooms along with ramp access to the beach. |
 | Take a canoe trip on Oyster Lake. Watch out though. Florida
alligators love fresh water lakes. While you might not be on their
lunch menu, you're not on their guest list either and they don't
care much for uninvited guests so steer clear of the pretty floating
logs. |
 | Cooking your favorite meat on the grill up on the second floor
balcony while watching a spectacular sunset can really cap off a
wonderful day. |
 | If you like to fish, one of the best Pompano holes on the Gulf is
just across the street from the Birdhouse. Bring your favorite reel. |
